Friday Frivolity

We've always had this thought to try and do something special to bring people in to the Kansas City Irish Fest on Fridays. Some of our promotional ideas kinda fall flat, to be honest with you.

A few years ago we tried "Bring Your Pit Bull Fridays." That got ugly quick. We had not much better luck with "Quintuplets Get In Free Fridays", "Free Ferret Fridays" and "Pin The Tail On Ed Scanlon." That last one really didn't have anything to do with getting people to come to Irish Fest on Friday, we just thought people might like it. Boy, were we wrong.

But last year I think we finally got it right. Five Dollar Friday.

Buy your ticket for Friday night through our website, get in for one little Abe Lincoln. This discount doesn't apply if you buy your ticket at the gate, only on-line. That is a deal, my friends.

Now, I work in Crown Center. You know what I'd do if I had any friends and didn't get into Irish Fest free on account of I work there? I'd gather up a bunch of funsters from the office and make a Friday night happy hour out of it. "Hey, gang", I might say. "Let's all buy tickets to Five Dollar Friday at Irish Fest and make a happy hour party out of it! We'll head down there after we finish these TPS reports! We can all wear our corporate idea tags, only to be wacky we'll wear them backwards! Whooo! Yeah! Stick it to the man!! High five...dollars , that is!!!" I imagine a lot of raucous laughing and back slapping would follow.

Sometimes I wonder why I don't have any friends at work.

Head over to the Irish Fest homepage and click on that big honkin' ticket button and start planning your Five Dollar Friday happy hour. And hey, if you want to invite me, that's cool. You know, if I don't have a big thing going on with my office homies, I might hang with you. Please.

$5.00! I'd pay that just to drive a nail into Scanlon's ass!
