Fri July 25 2008.... Colm Delahunt, the former Consular General of the once, (sort of!) Irish Embassy , Harlings Upstairs today became an American citizen. Colm was a member of cast at the largest swearing in in Kansas history. He was the only Irishman in the 621 strong 81 country new Americans. Governor Sibelius in her address noted the presence of the very proud Irishman having come from Irish roots herself. Colm was quoted with ' I Love America' ! as he left the Topeka Performing Arts Center.On behalf of all of us at Irish Fest, congratulations, Colm. America is a better place for having you in it.

I understand there was another local Irishman who was sworn in yesterday as well yesterday. Congratulations to Paul Byrne.
This is so cool. I attended the ceremony for a friend from India and didn't know these guys were there. Congrats. Maureen
