At the big Browne's Irish Street Fair yesterday, lots of folks stopped by the Irish Fest tent to say hello and lots signed up to volunteer, for which I am enormously grateful. Judging by some of new vols I spoke to yesterday, we're going to have a lively bunch roaming the grounds this August. Thank you to all of you who stopped by and special thanks to those of you who took the plunge and volunteered.
Thanks too to John and Kerry and all the crew at Browne's for puting on such a great event and for inviting us to be part of it. At one point yesterday I asked a gentleman who came by our tent if he'd like to volunteer to work at Irish Fest and he said "aren't we at Irish Fest?". And he was right. The spirit of the old Brookside and Westport festivals was alive and well at 33rd and Penn yesterday. We wish Browne's continued success with a great new Irish summer tradition.

Has anyone else noticed how the pavement at the Celtic Block Party reminds one of Westport and the shade trees at Browne's Street Fair are more than a bit reminscent of Brookside?
Deja vu?
Very much so and for a great cause as well!
Thanks to John and Kerry for getting my "motor revved up" for KCIF!
