Moo Am I?

I had a nice time this weekend with my sons Thing 1 and Thing 2, celebrating Father's Day. We went Father's day caroling, decorated the Father's Day tree, carved Dad O'Lanterns...the whole shebang. But now that Father's Day is over, the boys are starting to hit the mid-summer doldrums. They're all "Papa, we're bored", "Papa, there's nothing to do" and "Papa, why do you hide under the bed every time a police car drives by?"

If your children, like mine, are looking for an activity to keep their brains from stagnating over the summer, I'm here to help. Our 2008 mascot cow, as were all of her predecessors, came into the world nameless. She remains so as of this writing. And once again, the kid (sorry Mom and Dad) who comes up with the best name for our bow-wielding bovine will win a great prize. I think maybe an actual cow or something, but that's not really my department.

So get the kids working on that little activity. Should keep them occupied for awhile. Names for the contest should be e-mailed to KCIFCHILDRENS@everestkc.net. When the kids are done with that, you'll find all kinds of other fun stuff for them to do on the Children's page of our website. And if you're thinking to yourself "hey Danny, since you painted the cow this year, do you have a name in mind and will you tell us what it is? And will you be judging the contest?", the answers are "Yes, I do. I'd call her 'Miranda Mooholland'." and "Not on your life". Thanks for asking.
