Face Who Now?

Being an elderly curmudgeon myself, I don't know what Facebook is. But maybe you do. If so, apparently Irish Fest is there, doing whatever it is people and/or organizations do. Putting their faces in books, I guess. Anyway, my buddy Laren Mahoney knows about it. And she says this:

"Those that are into being social on the web can find us everywhere! KCIF has joined the revolution that is Facebook. . . and we need friends. We have 750+ friends on Myspace. Why not have a few more on Facebook. After all, we're friendly. You have to have a Facebook account to see our page. But I promise, it's there. All you have to do is sign in and search for 'KC Irish Fest'."

So yeah, do that. I'll be over here, with my face in a book.

Regan,
If the book doesn't work for your face. Try a bag for your head.

Word of caution from someone in the business.

This is not to discourage ANYONE from using ANY online product but when it comes to FACEBOOK... do yourself a favor and read their SIGN-UP agreement VERY CARFULLY.

It's one of the only social networking services that REQUIRES you to set up an account just to even visit the site or just view people's pages... which makes you wonder how it ever got so popular in the first place...but there's a reason they REQUIRE all the sign-ups.

It's gigantic PHISHING scam.

If you sign up... you have automatically given them permission to do ANYTHING they want with ALL the information you supply, email address included.

Buyer beware.

Haven't received any additional spam that what I normally get since I've signed up with facebook. Been on there 6 months.

I've heard that as long as you don't give your contact info to strangers, you are aok. Besides, all I have listed is my name and an email I only use for facebook.
