For the second year in a row, our visitors have voted the Kansas City Irish Fest our town's best festival. At today's Visitors' Choice Awards, Ed Scanlon accepted the prize on behalf of all of you who voted for us. And we thank you very sincerely. Ed sends this photo of our fabulous trophy, and says of the event:
It was fantastic that (former Irish Fest president and founding board member) Bob Sullivan was there to announce "the winner is...". Also on hand receiving the Visitors' Choice Award for best night spot was former board member and founder Kyle Kelly (owner of Kelly's Westport Inn).
We rock.

I've paid my dues -
Time after time -
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime -
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face -
But I've come through
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -
I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls -
You brought me fame and fortuen and everything that goes with it
-
I thank you all -
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise -
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race -
And I ain't gonna lose -
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -
Congratulations!... and thanks for the photo of the 'prize' right off the bat for us 'out of townies'!
It's beautiful.
You should have considered paying for spellcheck as well.
