Where To Volunteer, Part 8

First, a reminder: Irish Fest opens in 141 days. So clearly, the time to volunteer is here, now. 141 days? That's less than the gestation period for your average goat. True. Look it up.

Now. You get a lot of benefits where ever you volunteer at the Kansas City Irish Fest. You get a free t-shirt, a free ticket to the fest, the joy of helping put on Kansas City's best fest. But volunteer in today's featured area, and there might just be a little something extra in the metaphorical (and metaphysical) pay envelope.

The Mass

One of the fastest growing areas of Irish Fest is our Catholic Sunday Mass. We drew somewhere near 3000 to Mass in 2007 and expect to exceed that number this year. There are lots of good reasons for you to help in that effort. Like our Site Crew, Mass volunteers get their service over outside regular fest hours, leaving more time for enjoying our secular attractions. Mass volunteers work with the lovely and delightful Kathleen Dalton, who runs the event. Mass volunteers absolutely work with the best behaved crowd at the fest. Oh yeah, and Mass volunteers will spend eternity warm and content in the heavenly glow of divine salvation. So you've got that going for you.

Volunteers needed for the Sunday Mass include greeters, readers, ushers, Eucharistic ministers, and people to assist in set up and tear down. NOTE: standard volunteer shifts do not apply to Mass volunteers. Set up will begin at 7:30 AM, tear down and clean up will be completed by 11:00 AM.

You do us and your immortal soul a favor. Sign up today as a Mass volunteer.
