Irish Event Tomorrow

This coming Thursday-that would be tomorrow for those keeping score at home-the Irish Museum and Cultural Center, along with the Celtic Fringe present a 10th Anniversary celebration of ComhaontĂș Aoine an ChĂ©asta, the Good Friday Peace Accord.
"Partnering with Celtic Fringe, IMCC hosts a celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Good Friday Peace Accord. Live Irish music by Kelawen, refreshment by Guinness, and a short program of current & historical Ireland Peace Accord information. Join other members of the Kansas City Irish Community to celebrate a lasting peace in Ireland."

The celebration takes place from 7:00-8:30 Pm at the IMCC in Union Station. As for the music provided by Kelawen, since we're all about the music around here, here's some bio:
"Kelawen plays traditional and original Celtic music in their own unique style. Many of the original songs are based on the prose of 18th century Irish poets. Kelawen originated with Christa Kelly Scott as a solo act in 2006, and has since expanded to its present form. The band now consists of Christa Kelly Scott on lead vocals, fiddle, keyboards, percussion, mandolin, and guitar; Tess Stephens on fiddle, flute, and bass; Daniel Merrill on guitar, mandolin, and vocals; and Allan McGinty on bass, penny whistle, and fancy footwork. Together the members of Kelawen create a sound which is unique unto itself and must be heard to be appreciated."

So there you go. I'd suggest it be checked out.
