My sister Amy out in the mountains of Utah has let me know that the theme of the Salt Lake City St. Patrick's Day parade is, um...the color green. Kelly green, specifically. Which apparently is more than just a really ugly shade of that particular color. According to the Hibernian Society of Utah :
"This year, we celebrate the universally recognized color, Kelly Green, which symbolizes the indomitable spirit of the people of this tiny island whose landscape is a palette of forty shades of green."
Forty shades, and they picked that one?

I love that the Hibernian society "insists" that the musical entries for their parade play Irish music. What did they expect, salsa?
Seems like a reasonable request. Now...how many of those ridiculous drum-line marching bands do we typically have in the KC parade again? We could learn from our friends in Utah...
One secret Baptism at a time.
One color at a time?
Maybe it's a Mormon thing?
At least SLC has a parade.
Fair play to 'em!
You'd be surprised how many fairly
large US cities still don't.
