Back for a sophomore year at Irish Fest this year are our great contests. Hugely popular in 2007, this year the contests have expanded to an even four. Along with the baking, photography and knitting this year all you would-be Yeatses and Wildes and Joyces out there will have a chance to show your stuff in a new for '08 writing competition. Details are still being worked out, but they'll be posted soon along with all the other important info that's already posted on our contests page. I can tell you this much, if you want to break out the old Underwood and start composing now: think short. We won't be reviewing novels. Also, no entries containing the word Nantucket will be accepted.
So make with the baking, pick up the pen, get the picture and start yanking the yarn. You can win some great stuff. Me, I write all the time so I'm thinking of dropping this little steaming pile of talent on the judges. Don't worry, you can still try for second place.
A big prize is waiting for me.

Wait...what? I can't enter??
Who made up that rule??? Oh yeah...me.

(*whispers: p.s. Did I mention that staff can't enter?*)
Well, that's too bad about not accepting entries including the word Nantucket... I seem to remember composing something apt involving that word, a mop and a bucket!!
