Mañana

Yes, tomorrow's Friday and I know you're expecting a band announcement. But I don't think you'll be getting one, amigos. Not because I don't care deeply about you and your needs. I do. I feel your needs in deep, borderline-inappropriate places. But I just don't think it's happening tomorrow.

But trust me here. Although the 2008 Kansas City Irish Fest schedule has largely taken shape, there are still big things in the works. Huge things. Exciting things. Our crack team of band bookers are burning up the phone and fax lines down on the 14th floor in the entertainment wing of Irish Fest HQ, wheeling and dealing, offering and counteroffering, negotiating brown M&M percentages in green room candy dishes. Sometimes I go down there from the Executive Office Suites here on the 37th floor just to watch. It's cool. The other day I was down there and they let me hang up on Van Morrison's agent. You know when you see movies where they have those stock market trading floor scenes where everybody is yelling "buy buy buy" and "sell sell sell"? It's kinda like that, only everybody's wearing sunglasses. It's a show biz thing.

So listen, bear with us here. You can't build an Irish Fest in a day without breaking all your eggs in one basket. More band announcements are a-comin', promise. Just probably not tomorrow. I hope we can still be friends. Maybe I'll see if I can think up a contest to make it up to you. Would you like that? Of course you would.

You're awfully frisky today Uncle Bloggy! Feeling things in "needs in deep, borderline-inappropriate places."

Don't get me started thinking about those earlobes...
