When I asked Mike Esberg, our insanely talented 2006 Irish Fest cow artist to produce the rendering of our mascot that year, he wasn't crazy about having to follow our insanely talented 2005 artist, Tom Patrick. And when I asked Maria O'Keefe, our insanely talented 2007 cow artist to follow Mike, she expressed similar horror at the the idea of supplanting his great work. And I promise you, when I decided to do the 2008 painting myself, I was not excited to be walking in Maria's shadow. That was a great illustration.
So Maria absolutely made my day when she sent this note the other day:
Dan - I just checked your website and the cow looks FABULOUS!!!!! She has such a sweet expression that really shows up. Love the lettering too. :-)
Good job!!! I'm looking forward to seeing her everywhere later in the year. :-)
