Here in the bleak midwinter, Irish Fest can seem a long way off. To you, I mean. To those of us at Irish Fest HQ, it always seems just around the corner with a lot of work left to be done in a short time. But still, wouldn't it be great this dismal time of year to grab a beer and enjoy a bunch of great Irish bands, all in one place?
Saturday January 19th at Davey's Uptown Rambler's Club, 3402 Main, in beautiful MidTown you can do just that. Connacht Town, The Kelihans and Flannigan's Right Hook, all together. A little mini, in-door Irish festival. Ignore the snow, wear some shorts, slather on some sunscreen and pretend it's August. The show starts at 10:00 pm. Which means, I suppose, you probably don't need the sunscreen.

American - Irish rock, somehow this whole movement away from our roots just seems wrong, but best of luck to the lads.
I see your point, but art has always been about growth and change. Fortunately, music in general and Irish music in particular is a very big tent with room for everything from the Clancys to The Frames.
