I read in the paper this morning that the television program American Idol starts again tonight. Apparently this qualifies as news. Be that as it may, are you competing in that overblown talent competition? Of course not. Because you're too good for them. You, with your lilting voice and powerful delivery, you deserve a better showcase for your talent. So skip the American version, and get yourself entered in Irish Idol.
Thursday, January 17, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at Jess and Jim’s Steak House, 517 East 135th Street in Martin City, the people behind the Martin City Irishpalooza St. Patrick's Day parade and celebration bring you another round of Irish Idol. It's a karaoke contest with an Irish twist. There's some serious prize money ($750 Grand Prize), drink specials courtesy of sponsor Tullamore Dew and the qualifiers will compete for that purse at the Irishpalooza party in Martin City on March 16th.
Dude, you could totally win this. You're an awesome singer! You can find all the info on upcoming contests and a downloadable application right here.
Me? Yeah, I would enter and probably win, because I'm pretty much the best singer ever. But I thought I'd sit this one out and give other people a chance. I'm just nice like that.

You're probably the most strepitous singer I've ever heard, besides me.
