Did you see this story in the morning paper today? It's all about how Kansas City-which I've known for years was in fact the greatest city in America if not the world-is suddenly the happening place to be. Travel writers and magazine scribes across the country are saying things like “We can’t think of any other city with as much going on this year” and “underrated city with unexpected appeal” and “best combination of strong value and a great vacation experience” and “definitely deserving of buzz”.
What wasn't specifically mentioned in the article, though we know it to be true, is that Irish Fest is at the tip of the spear of this new-found swankiness. So if you're one of those people outside K.C. represented by a little dot on that map over there on the right, start making those plans now for your getaway to America's new hotspot. Maybe, let's say Labor Day Weekend. The weather's nice, we're centrally located, there's lots to do. I even know a nice little ethnic festival you can attend while you're here that particular weekend.
