Massive amounts of goofy last night at Eddie Delahunt's 4th Annual Pooka Party at Harling's Upstairs. Eddie, dressed as Sister Sheila herself in full habit, accompanied by Brett "Hobbit" Gibson and Farmer John Morris along with gold tooothed Colm Delahunt kept the music coming. Spotted in the crowd were the Saw Doctors...sort of, and a genuine Cork leprechaun and his date the tooth fairy, among other luminaries. The kostumed karaoke kontest was won by a trio of Irish Festers, director Erin Kiekbusch with her 80's hair-do reaching nearly to the ceiling, Artist Hospitality co-chair Mel Rohr as a St. Pauli Girl (the actual girl, not the beer) and sponsor hospitality area volunteer and former Irish Fest first lady Jennifer "Go Go Girl" O'Hara. The three edged out strong competition, belting out the B52's Love Shack to carry away the top prize. A grand time was had by all.
Although I think I speak for all in attendance when I say we could have done without the (male) bartender in the too-short nurses' uniform. Made me want to go home and wash my eyeballs.
Thanks a million to Eddie and Betsy for another great time.
