The Ice Man Cometh

If you'll turn to the Local section of your morning Kansas City Star today, right there in living color on the front page is Irish Fest staffer Brian Purcell making ice on the floor of the new Sprint Center. Brian, who also makes ice under the tent at Crown Center during skating season is one of those guys at Irish Fest whose job is hard to describe...because he does everything, everywhere, all the time. You'd swear he was twins. Which he is, but I'm speaking metaphorically in this case.

No better man, no better worker. And doesn't he look nice in that orange vest. What, Brian, they were out of green?

My friends and I have come from Colorado the last two years to attend your Fest, because truthfully - it rocks. For the price - your festival can't be beat. The music alone, to say nothing of everything else you have to offer, is amazing. I don't know how you manage to keep the gate cost so low, but we definitely appreciate your Fest tremendously. Thank you! In terms of music, I consider The Elders, Gaelic Storm, Fuschia Band, and Eddie as your standards and I'd hate to see any of them not be there - Terrace Stage issues aside. Others I'd love to see at your fest include:

Lunasa
Teada
Natalie McMaster
Milladoiro
Salsa Celtica
Greenwich Meantime
Great Big Sea
Craobh Rua

And what about bringing Seamus Kennedy back?
