Okay, maybe I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Granted. But surely the opinion of a genuine Ph.D'ed professor of molecular feckin' biology will convince you that the Saw Doctors are a must-see show:
Two KC Irish Fest committee members and friends/spouses met up in New York on Saturday, August 11th, to attend the first concert of the Saw Doctors at the Fillmore as they started their 2007 American tour. The concert was sold out. The band played with their usual excellent musicianship and the "sing alongs" with the audience (from baby boomers to GenX who by the way know all the words) revealed the strong bonds between these performers and their fans. If you have heard the Saw Doctors live before you know exactly what we mean and if not - do listen to their CD "Live at Galway" to get a sense of what this exciting band is all about. Their songs are full of humor and love and it shows!! They even saved some of their best for the encore with renditions of several favorites including Joyce Country Ceili Band. This was followed by a final rousing football-like song - Hay Wrap.
Brilliant fellers -just brilliant!
So come and see them at the Kansas City Irish Fest at Crown Center on Sunday night, September 2nd. Wear your green or your favorite Irish soccer team shirt like several in the hip crowd in NYC.

I saw the Saw Doctors' show in Northampton, Mass.last Saturday and it was outstanding, as always. And only a 3000 mile round trip driving all by myself.
It will be great to only have a six hour round trip to see them.
So far I've twice flown to both NYC and Chicago, as well as driven to Chicago, St. Paul, and last week Massachusetts.
Thanks for bringing them this close!
