Local singer and long time Irish Fest performer Eddie Delahunt has returned to Kansas City safely from a recent trip to Ireland. Not as lucky on its way home was a duck Eddie encountered on the road in the Gap of Dunloe.The poor bird had the misfortune to step unexpectedly out into the road in front of Eddie's oncoming car. Valiant attempts by your man to stop in time were, sadly, unsuccessful, and the duck was dispatched to the big pond in the sky. Eddie reports that the duck bore a strong resemblance to the duck on television ads who says "Aflac!", though we'd imagine that this duck's last words sounded a bit more like "AH, FECK!!"
The duck will be sorely missed by friends and family. Gardai report no charges were filed.

It's a sad day when the untimely death of an innocent duck isn't considered newsworthy, Sunshine.
Does that mean Ed's serving duck patte at Cafe & this week?
Eddie just wanted the feathers for a new boa.
