At the big Browne's 120th Anniversary shindig, it wasn't all music and beer, though there were significant amounts of both of those. No, there was also competition. Gritty, hard fought tests of skill, talent and/or pigmentation. It was in this last that one of our own, Irish Fest Site Host co-chair Sarah Walsh, rose to the top. Destroying all comers and laying waste to the merely strawberry blonde and auburn, Sarah was crowned as the winner of the Reddest Hair Contest, adult women's division.
You may attempt, but would fail to appreciate the reflected pride that we feel here at Irish Fest HQ in this glorious victory. Sarah's name will forever be honored in the Irish Fest Hall of Champions, which I bet we might build some day. All hail the giantess of the ginger, our hirsute heat-hued heroine, our queen of the copper coiffure, Sarah Walsh.
Oh, and I didn't win the raffle.

The contests were great but let's not forget about the music. My favorite was those lovely ladies of the Lucky Charms. From a heartfelt version of Foggy Dew to a rockin' version of Come out you Black and Tans I just couldn't stop watching. Of course The Elders put on a great show as usual. My only suggestion would have been to have had the Lucky Charms be the band that played before them, I think their style would have suited the Elders fans better.
