Summertime, And The Livin' Is Steamy

Tomorrow of course is the summer solstice in our particular hemisphere, when according to legend, a groundhog comes out of his hole, immediately turns around, goes back inside and cranks up the air conditioning because it's 98ยบ out there. It was also on the summer solstice that our Druid ancestors in Ireland would celebrate the coming summer by ritualistically slaughtering a fattened goat, then taking it and a bowl of ritualistically prepared potato salad to the neighbor's pool party and goat cook-out.

It also means that the gates swing open for the 5th Annual Kansas City Irish Fest in just 71 days. Have you volunteered yet?
