Early this morning construction began on the new Kansas City Irish Fest ramp. The ramp will be located on the North stairs and will make access to the Terrace level infinitely easier for our guests in wheelchairs. The ramp is being designed and built by Irish Fest director Rory O'Connor and donated by our very good friends and sponsors at Walton Construction. This morning, Rory was ably assisted by Irish Fest staffers Stevan Ryan, Jim Ondick and myself with a special cameo appearance by Ed Scanlon.
Over the years Walton Construction also built our thatch roofed cottage and our Irish pub front, so if if past performance is any indication, this ramp will be a work of high art. In spite of my help.
