Eddie Delahunt sings a great song he wrote about us, Irish Fest I mean, in which he sings "T'is the place to be seen, 40,000 shades of green. Down at the auld Irish Fest." More often than not when he sings that song, he adjusts that number based on his guess at our attendance any given year. This year, I know for a fact that we're adding one more very important shade of green, the environmental one.
We're recycling this year at the Kansas City Irish Fest, in partnership with the good folks at Bridging The Gap and we need your help. We expect to empty some 25,000 plastic bottles of water and soda over our three day weekend and our goal is to see that not one of those ends up in a landfill. Next to every trash can at Irish Fest this year, we'll have a special, clearly marked recycling container. Here's where you come in. We need people to use them. And we need people to help us empty and maintain them. If you'd like to be part of that bright new shade of green at Irish Fest, sign up to volunteer on the recycling team. And whether you volunteer or not, please help us by keeping your empty recyclable bottles out of the trash at Irish Fest.
I mean, if we can't go green, who can?

Hats off to the festival. I have heard that they have something called "Tidy Towns" in Ireland.
You get my vote for being a "Tidy Festival" do any of the other festival recycle?
