Where And When

Preliminary schedules for our three primary stages have been posted on our web site, so you can commence to planning your Irish Fest weekend, now just 112 days away. The schedules for the Children's Stage, The Heritage Stage and the Comedy Stage are pending and I'll let you know when they're up. And keep in mind, the schedule is subject to tweaking, 'cause we're tweakers.

But seriously...is this a great line up or what?

On Saturday, move Mr. Stinky Feet to the Atrium. Put Ellis Island on the Boulevard stage, and give them more time to play. Please?

2 hours on stage? In early September? In Kansas City? Seriously?

hi,dan! is there a preliminary schedule for workshops yet? have really enjoyed them in past years.

To the first comment, Jim Cosgrove draws huge crowds of very noisy kids. The atrium stage isn't a good venue for him. I will pass along the suggestion about Ellis Island to Dave the schedule man.

The second comment I don't understand at all, sorry.

Still working on the workshops, Martha.

1. Rowan is listed as part of the lineup on both the KCIF web page and the MySpace page but are nowhere in the "schedule". Are they actually going to be there?

2. Give the Elders a 2 hour mainstage slot on either Saturday or Sunday... but not BOTH DAYS.
They play any number of venues in and around Kansas City throughout the year and it doesn't make any sense giving them that much stage time at the festival when there will be so many other groups in town for ONLY that weekend.
This would free up some mainstage time so that Solas and Saw Doctors are no longer an either/or scenario.

3. Fuchsia Band deserves a prime-time mainstage slot on this go-around. No question. Have them open for Gaelic Storm and/or Saw Doctors ( They have done exactly that for both bands at other festivals ).

4. Move Mr. Stinky Feet back to the Children's stage area and free up 2 hours on the Pub stage. Give Ellis Island and/or Eddie Delahunt and Friends the Pub stage time.

5. Have a "Scattering" this year.
Close out the festival with a big performance utilizing ALL of the available talent. That would be AWESOME!

6. Drop 2U and make better use of the 2 hours on mainstage Friday. No one will miss them.
