No Business Like...

You ever see those big premiere events on the television set, where impossibly handsome people stroll down red carpets while the riff raff mill around behind the velvet ropes, jockeying for the best position to get a glimpse of someone prettier, cooler and more glamorous than themselves? Well, we got that here in K.C. and you, my friend belong on the sunny side of the velvet rope.

This coming Thursday, May 10 the award winning film The Wind That Shakes The Barley has it's Kansas City premiere at Westport's Tivoli Theater and you can be part of it. Your $100 donation to the Jennifer Ireland Fund, set up to assist families with young children who are dealing with cancer, puts you on the red carpet. There'll be a reception before the film and an exclusive party at Kelly's afterwards, where you can hobnob not only with your fellow film buffs, but with singer, actor and star of the film Máirtín de Cógáin who will regale you with stories of the filming experience. As I mentioned, I had a chance to see the movie some time ago with Mairtin and believe me the film and the stories are both great.

Dust off that tiara and press that tux. Get all the details on the event and the Jennifer Ireland Fund right here.
