Literally

You won't be able to swing a cat without hitting an Irish Fester at the Kansas City Literary Festival this weekend. Past board members Pat O'Neill and Bob Sullivan along with Terence O'Malley will participate in an Irish Topics round table discussion titled "Duds, Suds & Patties" which I'm guessing is supposed to read "Paddies" unless they're talking about hamburgers. Saturday at 5:15 p.m. Larry Kirwan, leader of 2006 Irish Fest band Black 47 will discuss his books Liverpool Fantasy: A novel (2003) and Green Suede Shoes: An Irish-American Odyssey (2005). Larry will join Malachy McCourt at O'Dowd's on Saturday afternoon from 2:30-3:30 at O’Dowd’s Little Dublin pub to discuss whatever comes up, some of it presumably literary.

The whole shebang takes place on the Country Club Plaza, scant blocks from where I sit now. You can all the important details at the Festival's web site by clicking precisely here.

I see where the specialty authors are going to be on the map of the literary fest but do we know exactly where Pat and Terrence will be? Please help an old lady out. :) I'm very interested in seeing this as well as Malachy and Larry at O'Dowds.

From Pat O'Neill: "In the Specialty Tent. I don't know exactly where that is, but it is somewhere near Helzberg's intersection. At 5:15. Which means Bob and Terence and I will come up with a game plan about 5:10."
