How do we Prepare for the Kid's Area at Irish Fest?

Prep Work is easy and fun...

First you come up with winning entry in the

Share the Gold Story Contest

Our story this year is about citizenship, either in a real world or a pretend world. Begin your story this way:
"My name is _______________. I am a Leprechaun. I am a special Leprechaun because I can share my pot of gold." You take it from there!

Second, you design a quilt square

Last year we began putting together a quilt. We need more original art quilt squares.

The Children’s Area of the Kansas City Irish Fest is putting together an Irish Quilt with original artwork contributed by the area Children. The quilt will be loaned for Display throughout the City, and each child that contributes will be named on a plaque permanently. There will be age group winners and each child that is selected will be special guests of the 2007 KC Irish Fest, and receive tickets for their family. Their artwork will be on display at this years Festival although the quilt will not be completed until we have enough squares.

The theme is MY IRELAND. The picture should depict what Ireland means to the artist. The size should be NO larger than 5" x 8".

And third, and finally, we are NOT only naming our cow this year, but our birds as well. Look at the top of our blog and see the magical, and musical troubadors. What are their names? Do you know? This cow (above) will be yours if you can name our melodic mooer and pals.

Where do I send such entries? Look at the children's area webpage for all kinds of important information, and for NAME OUR COW AND FRIEND send your entry to:
