To The Nines, Possibly The Tens

It's not often we at the Kansas City Irish Fest get all swanky in our personal appearance and dress. We're a T-Shirt based organization, largely. Our idea of dressing up at the Fest means wearing the shorts that have the least amount of beer spilled on them. That all changes this coming Friday night when several of the directors and officers of KCIF will go the black tie and gowns route to the Irish Museum and Cultural Center Annual Gala.

This event, way too lace-curtain for the likes of us, truth be told, takes place at 6:00 pm, March 23 at the Westin Crown Center and will honor the Jean and William H. Dunn, Sr. Family as the John J. Sullivan Jr. Foundation Humanitarian Award recipients for service in the community. The evening will feature Irish comedian George Casey, local singer Sean McNown, Celtic Crossings radio program host Peter Adams as MC, and an update on the Irish Center.

If you'd like to join in the festivities too, get in touch with Rachel Casey at the Center and she'll let you know how. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to get the ruffles on my powder blue tuxedo shirt fluffed.
