If you look towards Ed, would you say you were turning Ed-ward? Hmm. Regardless, that's exactly what we're doing as we check in with Irish Fest president Ed Scanlon for more presidential ponderings. Rock the mic, MC Ed.
"The clock is ticking because everything hinges on the magical number 317. Yes all float preparations must be done this week, everyone needs to wash their festival attire or purchase their Official Festival Parade shirts. Then there are things that will simply have to wait till after St. Patrick's Day; put up that new light in the breakfast room, clean the yard and garden from the winter's dropping of tree limbs and laying on the sofa with a good book. It is time to get excited it is time to celebrate all things Irish. It is time to watch those who know nothing about being Irish wearing green and thinking they are becoming Irish. It is a wonderful time of the year that is second only to Labor Day Weekend and Kansas City Irish Fest. Thank you to all who will be there representing the KCIF unit in the parade be sure to wear your proper festival attire (St. Patrick will have on his Fest Gear). Bring your entire family, however leave Rover and Kitty at home they really don't want to be there. Let's have a great day together."
