Ed Said #6

It's a new week and that means your long wait is over...Irish Fest board president Ed Scanlon has something to say. Your job? Pay attention. I mean, it is President's Day after all.

After spending the morning with my festival pals and several pints of Boulevard Stout my mind began to wander. So I just won the lottery and was pocketing hundreds of millions of dollars. The big party was over and I was about the task of spending the loot. Lovely ring for the missus, a new DeWalt drill for float building for me and all sorts of fancy things like that. Then came one of my other loves...Kansas City Irish Fest. Yup here is how it would work. Friday night opening the festival we have U2. Saturday night to relax a bit we have the Chieftains. Then Sunday night Van Morrison. Sounds like a line up the would be fun? Then reality set in with slap, you did not win the big lottery, only a small one. The line up would be The Elders, Gaelic Storm, Hothouse Flowers, Eileen Ivers, Great Big Sea, Eddie Delahunt, The Saw Doctors, La Vent Du Nord and John Spillane. Fantasy is fun. What would your dream line up at the festival be? Blog back your answer and we at Festival Headquarters will listen, make note and when I win the lottery our dreams will come true.

In no particular order:

Elders
Gaelic Storm
Young Dubs
Saw Docs
Great Big Sea
Enter the Haggis
Jiggernaut
Luka Bloom
Fuschia Band
Dougie Maclean (I REALLY enjoyed his set at Philly this past weekend!)
Ellis Island
Eddie Delahunt and Friends - including John Morris
Indulgers

I didn't get to see John Spillane this past year, but I really enjoyed what I heard when I walked by, and I'd like another chance at that.
