An tUachtarán

"Happy New Year to all the Kansas City Irish Fest Fans. As we start 2007, the eager new board of directors are planning for another party Labor Day weekend. The new year always inspires everyone to make all sorts of resolutions that are seldom kept. Here at Irish Fest HQ we are committed to keep our resolution for 2007 to make the Kansas City Irish Fest the best fest in the nation. We do not see ourselves as being the biggest, just the best. The board and committee heads are excited to get started, in fact a great deal of activity has already begun. Bands are being booked, sponsors are being signed up and many new ideas are being explored. The very hard working committees and volunteers have made KCIF very successful. We are all ready for 2007 and cannot wait till the tents are up, the first band is on the stage and the kegs are tapped. I can just feel the Celtic Pride in Cowtown taking over.

Happy New Year & Let's Have Fun!"

Ed Scanlon
President, Kansas City Irish Fest.

Good luck in your term of office, Ed! You do have an awesome fest and you should be very proud!

On another note, I hope that your family in Overton are alright! We have had a lot of power outage in Kearney due to this last storm and I know the surrounding communities are worse. Please let me know if there is anything I can do!

Aaron, thank you for the kind thoughts on my mother and father-in-law. At last report they were Iced in and had power and were keeping warm. Other than a couple of snow flakes Sunday during the Chief's game we are clear skys and dry ground.
Thank's again and we hope to see you in September if not before.
