Here's an idea. Get out of town.
Specifically, head East of town to Missouri's second city, St. Louis. Why, you ask? Because KCIF veteran and former Kansas Citian John Redmond, master of the button accordion, will be in residency at McGurk's Pub in that city beginning tomorrow, December 5 and continuing through the new year until January 6. John will perform nightly from 6pm to 8pm with Peo Ryan and James Riley. Irish Festers might remember James Riley as Eileen Ivers incredible guitarist from the 2005 Fest.
So pick a night, grab the wife, throw the kids in the Datsun, make for St. Louis and McGurk's. A good time is guaranteed. And John has offered his couch to weary travelers...presumably one at a time.
