Quiet time of year here at Irish Fest HQ. Full committee meetings to begin planning 2007 in earnest are still a few weeks off yet. Band signings are on a bit of a holiday hiatus, though some exciting announcements are imminent. And besides, we're all still too full of egg nog and fruitcake, not to mention hung over from the office Christmas party to get much done. So let's take it easy, shall we?
Here's some great, informative and entertaining viewing for you, presented in four parts. The Influence of Irish Music in America. Featuring music by Luka Bloom, Liam Og O Floinn, Richard Thompson, Elvis Costello, Sinead O'Connor, Christy Moore doing Fairy Tale Of New York, The Waterboys, Mark O'Connor, Donal Lunny, and a beautiful version of Kilkelly by Robbie O'Connell, Mick Moloney, Jimmy Keane. Enjoy.
