Cathie Ryan Band

By Thursday, the elections will be over and you'll be celebrating your party's victory in the electoral arena of ideas. Or you'll be in a desperate depression of the sorry state of our government, with those knuckleheads in charge. Either way, whether you need cheering up or are on a celebratory high, there's only one place to be on Thursday night.

Bragg Auditorium at the All Souls Unitarian Church, 4501 Walnut, for a special appearance by Kansas City Irish Fest alum Cathie Ryan. Cathie, the former lead singer for fellow Irish Festers Cherish The Ladies has a breathtakingly beautiful voice and she'll be joined here by Sarah Milonovich on fiddle, flute, whistles, mandolin and backing vocals as well as Donal Clancy (yes, of the Clancys) on guitar, bouzouki and backing vocals. The show, at 7:30 PM is a presentation of our good friends at Missouri Valley Folklife Society. Tickets ($17.00 for MVFS members, $20.00 for non-members) and all the info you need on this and the other great events put on by this important organization are to be found on their website, right here.
