Mass just ended moments ago, the sun is shining and it's a perfect day to wrap up the 2006 edition of the Kansas City Irish Fest. What a grand day yesterday. Got to see most of the great John Spillane yesterday on the Pub Stage. Please do yourself a huge favor today and get down here and catch his set at 1:30 on the Terrace Stage. You can thank me when you see me.
The Elders last night absolutely burned the house down (not literally, for those of you who were here and saw all the fire trucks). The Ceili Dance was packed, GrĂ¡da was fantastic as expected, Eddie Delahunt was his usual charming self and the comedians did their first of three shows to a big crowd, and "killed" as they say in that line of work. Again, not literally. At least I hope not. The only low point was Ireland's loss to Germany. Best of luck to Cork today in the All Ireland Hurling finals (no offense, Kilkenny).
We've loads more going on today, including a first ever appearance in Kansas City for the fantastic and lovely Bridies tonight at 8:30, another always great Gaelic Storm show on the Terrace Stage at 7:00, music workshops, our children's contest winners, and the raffle drawing, which sadly, I'm not eligible for. Note to self: change that rule for next year.
Back to work! We're open! Get your arses down here.
