Before The Snow Flies

While our own party at the Kansas City Irish Fest may be in hibernation for the winter, just over the river in Weston they're just gearing up for their 7th Annual Irish Fest. A great line up this year, with a lot of familiar faces for KCIF fans. Kansas City veterans The Young Dubs, Seven Nations, The Elders, Eddie Delahunt, Bob Reeder, Ellis Island and Tullamore are joined by Brigid's Cross, Connie Dover, Tom Dahill, and The Mickey Finns.

The Weston Irish Fest is October 13-15 this year, and tickets are $8 on Friday and $10 Saturday and Sunday. And if you're a recovering KCIF volunteer and think you might have one more weekend of Irish hooley throwing in you, volunteers are still needed up in Weston. You can see a volunteer schedule and the spots still open, and get all the info on the fest at the Weston Irish Fest website. On the site you'll also find information on travel and lodging if you'd like to make a weekend of it. If you haven't been there, Weston is a beautiful little town and well worth a visit, especially over Irish Fest weekend.

I'll be there celebrating my birthday, and I'm certainly not above accepting a celebratory pint should you feel inclined. If you don't know me, I'll be the very youthful looking young man in the KCIF shirt, getting my ID checked at the beer tent.
