Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund

There's a story in the business section of today's Kansas City Star, (here) about our city's Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund and it's role in helping make Irish Fest the success it's been since the skies opened and damn near washed us away in 2003. That role cannot be overstated. The NTDF saved our Irish arses, as did our move the following year to our home in Crown Center.

City government takes its lumps once in awhile, and it's sometimes deserved. But this is an agency that works, and does some really great things for Kansas City. If you live here, you experience those things all year long, and probably don't give it much thought. If you went to a festival, a parade, a museum, or any number of events in our town, chances are you can thank the NTDF for helping make it possible.

So...thanks NTDF. From all of us at Irish Fest.
