Musical Wares

So you're at Irish Fest and you just discovered a great new band. You want, no you need to get a CD of this band. No problem, we've have them. You mosey over to the nearby CD tent and there they are.

But wait. This great new band has 8 CDs to choose from! You're not made of money. How do you choose? Which one was first? Which is the newest? Most importantly, which one would Kansas City Irish Fest Entertainment booker Dave "Shocko" Shaughnessy recommend?

Dave has heard your cries for help and has come to the rescue. At each CD tent you'll find a big three ring binder with complete discographies of each of our KCIF performers and "Shocko's Pick" for his favorite, which should help you decide if you can only buy one. Dave has been eyeball-deep in Irish music both as a player and a procurer for a long time, and he knows his stuff.

So rest easy. We're here to help. And you'll drive home with great Irish music playing in the CD player.

You got it:

Enter The Haggis www.enterthehaggis.com

"I first heard of ETH when Norm Dahlor (The Elders) brought a CD home from one of the bands gigs in New Mexico. I was struck by their energy and their togetherness. They were at KCIF '05 and have developed a big following. Besides, I think you can see Brian's red hair from space."

Discography:
> Let The Wind Blow High (1998),
> Aerials(2001)
> Live!(2002),
> Casualties of Retail (2004),
> Soapbox Heroes (2006)

Shocko’s pick: Soapbox Heroes...It’s full of rollicking’ jig and reels, soft ballads, and Craig’s humor.

Dan, this will be great for us volunteers who may not know everything there is to know about all the bands! I mean, I can go on and on about The Elders and ETH, but some other bands I'm not that familiar with.
