Blare of Trumpet, Roll of Drum

We're all about formality and pomp here at Irish Fest HQ, as you've no doubt picked up from the stodgy tone of this blog. We love the ceremonial trappings that come with so serious an event as Irish Fest. And therefore Ladies and Gentlemen, it is with greatest pleasure that I introduce to you the 2006 Kansas City Irish Fest Official Baby. Please give a warm KCIF welcome to Seamus.

As our second annual Official Baby (last year's Official Baby, the beautiful and talented Molly is currently completing her post-doctoral thesis at Trinity College, Dublin) Seamus will be treated like royalty at Irish Fest. He will not be expected to walk anywhere, but will rather be carried by lackeys or conveyed in a carriage. He will be personally spoon fed the finest of mashed up delicacies. He certainly won't be expected to use the Port-a-Pottys with you rif raf. No, he will be...uh...attended to personally.

So when you see Seamus at Irish Fest, bow low and show due respect. And maybe wipe his chin while you're down there. He gets a little drooly sometimes.
