You May, in May

Just a reminder of some Irish/Celtic events as you plan the remainder of the waning days of May. You can get a double shot of Irish Fest performers on the 31st at The Record Bar in Westport, with the Kelihans and Enter The Haggis. ETH, as you'll recall if you were there, burned up the Irish Fest Terrace stage last year with one of the most memorable performances I've seen. If you weren't lucky enough to have been there, do not miss this show.

And the 4th annual Celtic Block Party kicks off a week from today at Governor Stumpy's at 71st and Oak in beautiful Waldo. It's another Irish Fest preview with The Elders, Tullamore, Bob Reeder and Jim "Mr. Stinky Feet" Cosgrove for the kids. The event is a benefit for St Vincent's Operation Breakthrough. The fun starts at 3:00 and runs until 9:00 PM. Tickets are $5 in advance, or $10 at the gate.

Kevin Ryan and his crew at Stumpy's are hosting with support from Locks and Pulls and with the Father Donnelly Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Call 816-806-1027 for advance ticket information and details.
