Where's (the party in) Waldo?

I know your head must be swimming now with all the options for your Paddy's Day celebrations. But let's throw another couple into the mix, shall we? Just South of my Brookside home in beautiful downtown Waldo is Lew's Grill & Bar, the home on Friday of the 2nd Annual St. Patrick's Day Hooley. With breakfast starting at 8:00, the parade and basketball on TV in the big tent, and music by Irish Fest veteran Jonathan Ramsey, The Kelihans, and Disc O'Dick and The Mirrored Balls, Lew's has you covered from dawn until drop. You can get all the details right here.

Just a bit closer to home (for me, anyway) is one of my favorite new places, The Gaf, in the spot formerly occupied by the late, great Romanelli's. Here you'll find an all day celebration with corned beef, the absolute best Irish beef stew in town and plenty of of well poured pints. Jim and Ray open the doors at at 10 a.m. and Kevin Regan (no relation) plays the bagpipes. For more info call The Gaf at 816-333-1321.
