Valuable Parade Advice

The good folks at the Kansas City St. Patrick's Day parade committee offer the following advice on making your trip to and from the parade as easy and safe as it can be:

The 33rd Annual Kansas City St. Patrick's Day Parade, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. The parade will follow the same route as in 2005 - beginning at the corner of Pershing Rd. and Main Street, it proceeds east on Pershing to Grand Blvd. and continues north on Grand Blvd. to Truman Road.

Plan ahead when arriving... Since the Parade is on a business day and coupled with the large amount of construction Downtown, plan on arriving early to minimize traffic congestion and leave yourself time to find parking. Please be considerate of the area businesses - without their continued support this Parade would not be possible.

For the second year, the entire Parade route will be lined with barricades. This was extremely successful in 2005 in keeping the Parade route open for participants and ensuring spectators that arrived early could maintain their view of the Parade throughout the day. The barricades will be in place before spectators begin arriving so please plan accordingly - crossing the Parade route from east to west or vice-versa, either on foot or in your vehicle, will be very difficult.
