The Kelihans

...and speaking of the rainy birth of the Kansas City Irish Fest, that was also the beginning of our long friendship with a great KC Irish rock band, The Kelihans. These guys (and girl) won our hearts when they put on impromptu acoustic sets standing (and dancing) ankle deep in the mud just inside the tent where our poor merchandise vendors were wallowing. This after their scheduled set on stage had to be scrubbed because of the rain and the pesky little complications that came with it, like the risk of death by electrocution. We've been hardcore fans ever since. And if you're a fan too, this coming St. Patrick's Day brings plenty of opportunity to catch them live. As a matter of fact, judging by their schedule unless you're staying home all day it'll be hard not to see them!

The Kelihans Live on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2006:

12:00 PM @ The Record Bar, Kansas City, MO
2:00 PM @ Davey's Uptown Ramblers Club, Kansas City, MO
4:00 PM @ Lew's Grill and Bar, Kansas City, MO
9:00 PM @ Replay Lounge, Lawrence, KS
