The profile of Old Blind Dogs has been posted on the website. Nowadays on the Green Linnet label and described as a neo-traditional supergroup, OBD have created more albums than you can shake a stick at. Loyal to the traditions of their native north-east Scotland and its folk music and dialects, Old Blind Dogs have never shirked from progressing the folk tradition while encompassing the greater world of Celtic music including that of Brittany and Galicia.
If you listen to Fiona Ritchie's Thistle & Shamrock, and you have a good memory, you may remember this interview with Old Blind Dogs from a few years back. Celtic guitarist Todd Habekost highlights the Dogs as a major influence on his music, along with Led Zeppelin, Beethoven and Pat Metheny.
As this year's CD "Play Live" (from performances in Chicago and Tulsa) shows, Old Blind Dogs wear their title of the 'Folk Band of the Year' (Scots Trad Music Awards) very well. Now, put down that stick.
